This Week In Tickets: 30 June 2014 - 6 July 2014

Happy firecracker days!

This Week in Tickets

The Independence Day holiday dictated a lot of what went on this week, with new movies coming out Wednesday, which meant other ones left Tuesday, and so on.

Two of the ones that left early were The Internet's Own Boy and The Grand Seduction, which I caught on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. The first is pretty decent; the second not so much, but both in the range of mediocrity.

With Hurricane Arthur coming, Boston & Cambridge moved their big fireworks display from the fourth to the third, which was actually kind of nice; a lot of the overkill didn't make it, but the music and the explosives were still top-notch. Unfortunately, the skies opened immediately after, and I not only got incredibly soaked on the walk home, but it kept me in all day. The weekend got really nice, though, so I spent a lot of time on the deck, listening to baseball and reading, leaving me just enough time for Begin Again. That was certainly the right choice, though, because it's a fantastic movie, one of the best of summer.
